HISTORY
THE
HAUNTED ATTRACTION
OtherWorld’s has it’s history rooted in that of a Huge half acre Haunted
House Attraction in St. Louis back in 1985, called “Scream”.
This
‘House of Horrors’ was built with props mainly created by OtherWorlds founder
and CEO Ken Deel,
who dubbed his short term company as “OtherWorlds
Creations” (D/B/A Ken Deel).
Coffins, tombstones,
medieval décor, sound effects, electrical effects and lighting and maze
construction
are just a few of his responsibilities he held when Scream was created.
Scripted Actor scenes were part of some, but not all of the 23 scenes in this
House of Horrors, and certainly added to the attraction.
Effectively even making the biggest patrons jump in surprise in the least.
The
Haunted House was another large project taken from visualization to completion
as it opened on Sept 8th 1995,
a six week per season.
THE GAME DEVELOPER
This
‘Haunted House Project’ had later spawned the idea of creating a computer generated
“Virtual” haunted house,
the possibilities gleamed as to what could be done.
So
design for this game went under way for what was later to be named “UNHOLY”.
From
a strong story, the game design,
Mainly a lack of usable personnel talent prevented the project from being
completed,
technology has sped past the ability of most to create game content that is
worthy of a publishing deal.
The door for Indie game development (for full titles), has slammed shut and
locked for all indie developers on a budget.
While the door to independant film making has opened wide like a bay door.
